Melanie Jonas (previously Layton) is a fictional character on the soap opera Days of Our Lives. She first appeared in 2008 as the daughter of Trent Robbins, but it was later revealed that her biological father is Daniel Jonas. Melanie is portrayed by actress Molly Burnett.
Melanie's storyline has included being involved with the DiMera family, helping to take down Trent Robbins when she discovered he was a drug dealer, having a tumultuous relationship with her stepmother Carly Manning, and becoming involved in a love triangle with Chad DiMera and Abigail Deveraux.
In 2012, Melanie left Salem to start a new life in Europe but returned briefly in 2014 for a farewell storyline before departing again.
